When I was a little girl the two things I enjoyed doing most was singing and dressing up!
Some of my happiest early memories were of coming from behind the settee in my Nan’s house pretending to put on a show and singing away to anyone who was in the house that would listen. If I was good, a special treat would be to go into the cupboard where my Aunt’s bits and pieces were kept and allowed to look in wonder at the old film star books, clothes and accessories. My Aunt was a model and a buyer for Rackhams so she always had the very best in what was in fashion at the time. It all seemed so glamorous and grown up.
All my family have had a love affair with clothes and especially shoes that is still with us today.
Buying vintage clothes has taken me back to those days where each piece seems to hold a story behind it.
When I first started to sing I felt an uplifting feeling inside that I cannot explain, dealing with vintage clothes and things that are just different, even if they aren’t that old, gives me that kind of pleasure. I seem to have developed an eye for it and love to see how the two most important things in my life are not so far apart and crossover in so many ways.
I am presently selling clothes and accessories at Antique markets and Vintage Fairs with Judy, my best friend for many years who also shares this great passion.
Although we will continue to do this as we both love this personal contact with people, we also want to open this up to a bigger audience (excuse the pun!). I have therefore extended my website to include this part of our work.
We have had so much fun purchasing these items I do hope that you find something special to buy.
